The ceramic panel heater from Mylek works really well in our shop. It heats the room quickly. The room isn’t staying warm for as long as I’d hoped but I think that’s more to do with the huge shop front windows. It has a timer but we haven’t used it yet. Looks very tidy.

Can this heater be used with a WiFi plug to turn on and off or set a schedule etc?

No, this is not compatiable with a WIFI plug. The Ceramic Heater comes with a 24/7 timer that be programmed to your individual requirements.

Can you turn the heat on and off manually in between the timed heating hours? In other words, can you boost the heat when it's cold and it's not set to automatically come on yet?

The Heater can be used with the P3 setting to your daily requirements or manually with the quick start. No boost function available.

For a 1.5 KW heater how hot to the touch does it get and how loud is it.

The thermostat's maximum setting is 35c and all types of heaters will get hot too touch. The surface temperature is around 60 to 80 degrees. They will make a clicking noise with the metal contracts but do not have a decibel rating they are quiet.

What are the dimensions of the brackets.Will they allow the heater to fit over a 20m skirting board.

A clearance when wall mounted required is 300mm above & below and 150mm required on both sides.

I cannot understand the difference between comfort mode and eco mode. I had an oil filed radiator once and eco mode on that turned it off just before reaching the set room temperature so you don't go over the target setting. Is this what your radiators do?

The Comfort temperature range is higher that the Eco mode by 3.5c.

The Comfort mode ranges from 5c to 35c.

The Eco mode ranges from 1.5c to 31.5c

The Anti-Frost mode isset at 7-8c.

Is there much heat loss at back of heater to wall ?

No, heat is passed from the top and from the front of the unit, the rear is minimal but also depends on wall insulation.

Hello I am looking to buy 2 freestanding heaters, one for bedroom and one for living room, basically to make use of a cheaper night timer electric tariff, and hopefully warm the rooms up before I get up in the winter. I am looking at both your ceramic electric panel heaters and also oil filled ones, can you let me know which are more economical to run and which stay warmer for longer etc? thanks Bev

The ceramic Heater is Lot 20 and energy efficient with an 18mm ceramic core that will retain the heat for longer. They also have a 24/7 timer and open window detection so no energy is wasted Please measure your rooms for the exact kw of heater required. The oil-filled units are on wheels and are portable but are not Lot 20 compliant.

Can the heater be plugged into an extension lead?.

No, it is not advised to extend the cable.

Hi, we are running 4 of the ceramic 2kw heaters. Following a power failure which lasted several hours the units had to be reset using the on/off switch. Is this normal as it seems a bit of a problem when leaving background heating particularly when a building is being unoccupied for a few weeks in winter.

This is normal with all heaters if you have a power cut. If using the timer then the clock would need to be reset.

Can these be set at a precise temperature so it's maintained during the on periods set in the programmer? Or only the parameters set within the 3 modes? Michael

The P3 program is needed for individual daily requirements. The temperature can be chosen comfort, eco, or anti-frost.

Yes, it has a 24/7 timer so you would need to use the P3 program.

Can these heaters replace old storage heaters as a primary heating source?

They are supplied with 3-pin plugs and will not work with Economy 7 electric. Measure your room to get the correct power of heater for your exact room size.

Can these heaters be used a a primary heating source? A number of electric heaters I've look at say they are only suitable for occasional use and for secondary heating. Please advise

Yes, these have a 24/7 timer so they can be used when required.

Do they do any other colours than white

Hi I have 5 ceramic heater and 2 towel rails; when the power goes off apart from resetting the clock do I have to reprogram every one with our own program again. P3 self program is useful but the power is often off as we live very rural. Does program 3 remember my program or does it revert to default

On the ceramic heaters & the towel rails after a power cut the time & day would need to be reset. The P3 program will remember the program depending on how many hours of the powercut.

Do kou need the ceiling height when working out a suitable heater ?

No, just the length and width of your room as height rises.

No, they are NOT suitable to be covered to dry your wet or damp clothes.

Please do not dry washing over the heater. There is a miniumum clearance around the heaters of 30cm otherwise the units will over heat.

In the 24/7 timer of the ceramic heaters is there an off choice ? My current model only seems to have comfort or eco.

There is no off choice. However, we would recommend using the comfort mode when you want the heater to be on, and eco when off, as this mode can allow you to set the thermostat to as low as 1.5°C. Alternatively, select the frost mode for the hours you do not want it to operate.

I have bought a 2kw ceramic core radiator...is it ok to hang on plasterboard?

The Heaters weigh between 7 to 15kg and would need the correct support and clearance.

Please make sure that it is fire-resistant and strong enough to hold the weight of the heater.

Hi, are the control panels replaceable? I only ask for future proofing as this is generally the part that would fail and if replaceable would mean the whole heater wouldn't need replacing.

No, the control panels are not replaceable. The Mylek Ceramic Heater comes with a two-year warranty.

How much space either side do these heaters need? We have just purchased a 1.5kw and a 2kw and just want to make sure we are putting them in a space with enough of a gap either side to prevent overheating.

The heater must not be located immediately below a socket outlet. A clearance is required 300mm above and below and 150mm on both sides.

Hello,could you tell me if these heaters are double insulated or will they need earthing if wired into a spur.

They can be spurred in with a qualified electrician but come with a 3-pin plug.

I have to leave door ajar for my pet to come and go. Will this have the open window affect on the heater?

Yes, but the open window detection can be turned off by pressing the open window button.

Does it auto shutoff when temperature reached?

Yes, Once the heater’s thermostat control detects the room has reached your target temperature, it then stops drawing power and uses the heat stored in the ceramic plate to keep you warm.

Is the thermostat ERP LOT 20 compliant? (accurate to 0.2 C degrees)

Yes, the thermostat is Lot 20 compliant and depending on your room is accurate to 0.2 to 3c.

They will start heating up when they are turned on. It would vary depending on your room size, your insulation amount of furniture etc and the chosen temperature. We are unable to provide an exact timescale.

Hi in terms of the energy saving properties of these heaters, if replacing a traditional wall mounted electric heater without temperature control how much less energy would they use (ballpark)? Or how soon would they pay for themselves?

The Lot-20 compliant heaters with an accurate thermostat are more energy-efficient than a heater without temperature control. Please measure your room and then purchase the correct kw heater that will heat your room size. This comes with comfort, eco and frost mode, and also an open window function. Please check with your energy provider for the exact prices to run 1kw per hour.

The current temperature will show on the display unless it is lower than your room. It will show the temperature you have chosen on comfort or eco mode.

Can you please let me know the minimum distance above the floor and the minimum distance below a window still for the ceramic panel heater please ?

The minimum distance from the floor required is 300mm, also the top of the heater is 300mm.

Do you have a picture of the radiator with the feet please? There is a big difference between the 110mm depth given for wall mounnted and 340mm for free standing.

We would recommend the Mylek Ceramic Heaters because they retain heat when turned off for up to a hour.

The 2kw is recommended for your living room as this can cover upto 22m2.
The 1kw is recommended for the bedroom as this covers upto 12m2.

I work for a train operator and specify equipment. You offer a 1 year warranty could this be extended. Are the ceramic heaters suitable for commercial use. Can the controls be mounted separately as we will get occupants fiddling as they know best! I have 5 Refurbishment projects to start in the next 2 months.

The Heater should be programmed using P3 program for 24/7 usage please follow the instruction manual on page 12. But you will need to program every hour of the full week instructing the heater when to turn on & off. The programs P1 & P2 are preset programs.

My living and dining room are part open plan. A double open door way between the two. The area of the dining room is 9.2 m2 and living room is 17.3m2. what would be your recommendation for heater sizes.

The Ceramic Heaters will heat different size rooms as below.

So we would recommend the 1kw for the dining room and the living room the 1.5 or 2kw version.
