Air Coolers
Our range of MYLEK Air Coolers are a fantastic alternative to Air conditioners. Offering increased cooling power compared to a standard fan, without the high cost associated with running an air cooler. We have a wide range of sizes to suit rooms both large and small, with a range of other useful features included.
Air Coolers
Air Coolers are one the best solutions to cool down on a hot summer’s day. They offer improved cooling performance when compared to some standard fans, and are much more cost-friendly than an Air conditioner which can run up quite the bill with frequent use.
How Do Air Coolers Work?
By using a process known as evaporative cooling, Air Coolers effectively cool the airflow in the room. Each Air Cooler is fitted with a fan, a water tank, and a sheet of absorbent material. When the tank is filled with cold water, it’s gradually soaked up by the absorbent cooling pad. Then as the water gathered in the pad begins to evaporate, it will suck some of the heat energy out of the air and the fan then blows this cooled air out into the room.
Air coolers are not air con units and you shouldn’t expect the same cooling performance from them, as air coolers use a lot of different complex machinery to work, which can be costly to both install and run. Whereas air coolers are much more affordable, lightweight, and cheaper to run, while still offering effective cooling and are more often a more practical solution for homes and smaller offices than an air conditioning unit.
How to Use an Air Cooler
You should first start by filling the water tank with cold water, then simply switch it on and let the unit do the rest of the work. We recommend locating your air cooler near an open door or window. This will cool you down more efficiently by working alongside the natural airflow of the room.
You can further increase the cooling effects by putting ice packs in the water tank of the Air Cooler. All our MYLEK models come with free ice packs. For those days when the temperature isn’t so high and you may not need too much cooling, most Air Coolers can be used simply as a fan.
Air Cooler Maintenance
While Air Coolers are very low maintenance, they do still require to be cleaned out every few months. In particular, the water tank will periodically need cleaning to prevent the build-up of stagnant water, while the cooling pad will also require cleaning every now and then for much the same reason.
Benefits of an Air Cooler
Increased Cooling Power
The biggest benefit afforded by an Air Cooler is the cool breeze it generates due to the use of evaporative cooling. Which can be further cooled with the addition of ice packs in the water tank, all while not using any more energy than a standard fan.
Quiet
They are also very quiet to run, which means they can even be used throughout the night to help make sleeping on those hot, humid nights much more comfortable, without the disturbance of noisy fan blades.
Eco-Friendly
As the process they use to cool down the air is a naturally occurring process, they do not require any extra energy than a normal fan, and use much less than an air conditioning unit, making it much better for both the planet and the wallet.
Lightweight and Portable
Our range of MYLEK Air Coolers are all very lightweight and portable, so even if the tank is full, you can easily move it from room to room in order to place it exactly where you need it most with ease. It also makes it easy to store when the warmer months are over.
