How deep does this model detect to?

The maximum depth this will detect is 15cm.

How do I tell the difference between metals?

Your Metal Detector distinguishes between ferrous and nonferrous metals. Ferrous metals contain iron, while non-ferrous metals such as gold, silver, copper, platinum, aluminium, lead, and zinc do not.

When the detector senses a metallic object, the meter reading changes and the detector might sound a tone. The actual reaction depends on what metal is detected.

What does it mean when the sensitivity is on 4 in the red ? Also the light is red

The 4 indicates a ferrous metal in red. The green is for non-ferrous metals.

Hello what are the numbers for metal detector MYMD1062 for Red 1to 4 the green is 1 to 6 it dose not tell you in the manual

The red indicates ferrous metal and the green confirms non-ferrous metals.

Hello We have this metal detector but I seem to have misplaced the power supply - could you confirm which charger I need to buy?

The battery required is a 9V DC battery.

Do you have to reset it every time you use it ? or just the onces thanks

Each time you use the detector in a different area, or DISCRIMINATION is adjusted, you will need to re-tune the detector.

Are batteries included? If not what batteries are needed please. David

Hi I have received my detector the mylek xp plus but I can’t understand the manual very well when it comes to sensitivity and if I’ve found anything it seems to constantly beep saying I have a target and what is the disc button mean Thankyou lee Nicklen

To set the metal detector up it is best to set up outside, indoors can give false reading because of water pipes, wiring etc.

1. Rotate VOLUME control dial to the 11 o’clock position.

2. Set DISCRIMINATION dial to its midpoint about 1200 oclock.

3. Hold the search coil about 1 foot above the ground and keep away from any metal objects, which is why it is best to set up outside.

4. Press down the Auto Tune button on the handle until the pointer on the view meter rests at or near 0, then release the Auto Tune button. The unit is now set for detecting.

5. Every time the unit detects something it will beep and the view metre will go left or right depending on what material is detected.

6. After you have checked the area for what you have detected simply press the Auto-Tune button again to automatically return the pointer to 0, the unit is ready to start detecting again.

7. If the area you are detecting constantly bleeps then there will be a high concentration of metals in that area and maybe better to try other areas.

Ours doesn’t beep? It humbs loudly and the arrow moves but not when I place metal under it? It that right?

Please adjust the volume & look at the display dial the metal detector will then show the metal detected. The until may not bleep.
